Concept demo Fictional garden studio Sample prices only

Privacy and about this demo

A working demonstration, not a real studio.

Plot & Form is fictional. This site shows how a small garden studio could present its services, a planner and an enquiry. Here is exactly what it does with your answers, and what it never does.

What it does

  • Draws a rectangular garden from your choices and works out the areas.
  • Shows a sample calculation from invented rates, or an assessment brief when a site visit would be needed.
  • Saves a fictional test enquiry, with fixed fictional contact details, in a private database on the hosting account.
  • Keeps saved test enquiries in a private demo inbox that only the site operator can open. It is not a page on this website.

What it never does

  • Send emails or messages, book appointments, take payments or create real leads.
  • Ask for your real name, address, phone number, photos or free-text messages.
  • Look up addresses, use maps, read photos or work out prices with AI.
  • Give a quotation, a final price or a promised timescale.

Storage

Where your answers go

While you use the planner, your choices stay in this browser tab and in the page address, so you can carry a plan into the enquiry.

When you save a test enquiry, the demo server checks every answer, works out the brief and the sample figures again itself, and stores one record in a private database outside the public website. Only then does the page show a receipt. Saving the same enquiry twice returns the same receipt rather than a duplicate. Test records are meant to be deleted after 30 days. Deletion is attempted each time a later test enquiry is saved, so older records can remain if the demo is not used or a clean-up attempt fails.

To keep saving safe, the server sets a short-lived session cookie that only it can read. The receipt for your last test enquiry is kept in this tab, so a refresh does not lose it; closing the tab clears it. There are no analytics, adverts or third-party scripts.

Requests from other sites are refused. The hosting provider processes the network information needed to serve and protect the site; the demo itself does not store IP addresses.

Sample prices

Invented on purpose, explained in full.

The rates below were made up for this demonstration. They are not researched landscaping prices, they are not averages, and they include no separate tax calculation.

A sample calculation adds a fixed setup allowance to each area times its rate. Areas are used exactly as worked out, with nothing rounded. Each charge is rounded to the nearest penny, and the sample total adds those charges together. The indicative range runs from 85% of the sample total, rounded down to the nearest £25, to 115%, rounded up to the nearest £25.

Standard and Premium are illustrative allowances, not named products. A real client would approve their own rate model, exclusions and worked examples before showing any figure to customers.

Worked example: an 8 m by 6 m plot with a half patio, a 0.5 m border and the Standard allowance gives a £3,610 sample total and an indicative range of £3,050 to £4,175. Open it in the planner.

Any site answer other than a level plot with straightforward access, or unknown measurements, shows no money at all.
